There are places on this planet known to have pockets of this intense sacred energy and it is to those places that people from all over the world flock to visit and experience. Places like the deep wide mesa’s in Sedona and New Mexico, Ayers Rock in Australia, the Glastonbury Tor in England, Newgrange in Ireland and on and on and on the world over.
Since I was very young I was able to feel these energies deeply, and they often gave me the gift of a deep sense of sacredness and grounding that would compel me, and drive me into deep creative states.
Over the years I learned to seek out these energies, I learned how to give back to them, and to thank them for their gifts of inspiration and grounding and how to work with them.
These lessons did not come easily though and there were many years when I simply forgot they were there or available for me to tap into, and many years where I forgot to even so much as even thank them.
It was not until I met and worked with my shamanic teachers that I even realized what these spirits were and what I was doing when I tapped into them.
My understanding of these spirits now is deeply different from what it was so many years ago, and I am now so grateful every day for their gifts and care.
The spirits of the place where I live with my family are special ones and give thanks to them as much as I can.
That was 10 years ago this October and the rest has been history! The spirits of this place have kept us safe, and I have learned to thank them and give offerings to them with each passing season.
We have been able to grow veggies and herbs, flowers, apples, and cherries and plums from the new plum tree we planted in the front yard with Zahra’s placenta to commemorate her birth here in this home. There has been a spirit medicine wheel full of flowers and herbs and now bees. Yes this small plot of land and the spirits on it, really have supported and held us over the years.
Yes the spirits of this place are just as important as the people that reside here, and we are fortunate to know them.
